DECODING ARTHURIAN ROMANCES & BUCKAROO BANZAI’S B/LACK ALIENS

So, I’m reading an Arthurian romance called Erec & Enide. Was having breakfast in the lounge where I was staying & it was lying there right before me. It found me, not me it if you follow. You know how they throw around the word “fair”? Even in “fair”-y tales we were always taught to think it meant “white” or “blonde” or some such mind-swiping, right? “Who’s the fairest one of all” as in palest, most anemic looking—you know. So, I’m reading the grouped phrase: “fair, brave, and courteous” and I’m like, brave & courteous are character characteristics as in personality not physical, visual ones. To stay linguistically consistent: “fair” never meant light, it meant FAIR as in JUSTICE.

    Who plays FAIR.

Who is on the side of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Who is the FAIREST one of all!

As for the b/“lack” aliens (which has the word “lack” in it, so we’re moving towards “melanated”) there’s this bizzarro flick you’ve probably never seen or heard of, just in case you are curious. (The aliens he’s fighting aren’t the melanated ones, in case you are wondering.)
