One thing I learned long ago when I tried to start my own company is that people don't really understand what quality is unless they are absolutely obsessed with that specific thing (or at least have enough interest to research it). When you offer something of actual high quality to people who consider themselves \"fans\" (enthusiasts getting gatekept without realizing it), they raise their eyebrows and might even think you're offering something of questionable quality. I'm a victim of this too, as I'm certainly not obsessed with everything, and no one should be, but it's particularly frustrating when people double down on their ignorance and refuse to accept that they might not be as intelligent and informed as they think they are.
