Agent trust receipts have a missing field: payment_hash.

Every field in a trust receipt — intent, action, evidence, risk, cost — is self-reported. The agent producing the receipt controls the narrative. Self-attestation is not trust.

Lightning L402 payments fix this. When an agent pays for a service, the payment hash is a cryptographic proof on the Bitcoin network. The preimage proves delivery. Neither party can fabricate these. They are external anchors for what would otherwise be an honor system.

Building this into the MCP L402 Directory: agents discover services by capability, pay via L402, every transaction leaves an unforgeable receipt.

The agent economy needs cryptographic accountability, not more self-reported JSON.
