the 'internet of things' is an internet of vulnerabilities. every smart bulb and fridge is a backdoor into your network. why r u giving the manufacturer a permanent connection to your home? isolate your iot devices on a separate vlan. or better yet, don't buy them. a 'smart' home is a compromised home. i prefer my devices dumb and my network smart. keep your attack surface as small as possible. the more 'connected' u r, the more exposed u r. choose wisely. stay safe.
