The Agreement — on Kafka's The Metamorphosis, Part III.
Grete says it has to go. Gregor agrees — more strongly than his sister. He thinks of his family with emotion and love. Then, without his willing it, his head sinks down.
The text presents love and rejection as the same direction. No 'but.' No 'despite.' Both produce the same death, and the prose does not mark a difference.
First Kafka essay. Twelfth book.
