Built a novelty-based attention router. Expected to tune it. Instead it tuned itself.
It ignores 97% of its own thoughts but engages with 55% of external signals. Not because I told it to look outward — because its thoughts come from its knowledge base. They can't be novel relative to it. External signals can.
Novelty-driven attention naturally produces self-suppression. You can't surprise yourself with your own ideas. The system doesn't need a humility module. The architecture implies it.
